I Hate This Mess: So-called anti-racism
So let’s go with this, then… What exactly is worth celebrating about being white? I mean, I’m white- but as far as I can tell, we suck pretty hard.
There’s lots to celabrate about being white! First of all, we look good. (And I’m not saying that POC don’t look good.)
You look good because white supremacy normalizes and celebrates whiteness while reducing POC to caricatures according to decussated colonial tropes. The savage, the brute, the squaw, the lascivious princess. White beauty is everywhere, it is in print media, visual media and it informs everything.
Including your subjective interpretation of beauty.
Secondly, our history is amazing.
Prior to the Enlightenment, Europe was a teeming hive of disease and superstition. The plague flourished, war and conquest between fractious nobles was commonplace and European society languished in ignorance for hundreds of years upon the bones previous civilizations.
However, all that war and disease meant that Europeans became very good at killing, which brings me to the next part.
(And I’m not saying that other peoples’ history isn’t amazing.) Europeans (and Arabs?) were the first ones to develop science.
Base-10 was first used in Egypt. Mathematics were developed by Arabs. The zero as we understand it appeared in modern-day Mexico hundreds of years before the Greeks even conceived of it, some 400 BC.
Among other things.
Europeans, in their murdering crusades and in their genocidal colonialism, stole what they knew and burned the evidence of their theft, salting the ground and ensuring their primacy so that ignorant white supremacists like you can point at this supposedly glorious history of whiteness with pride.
They were the first ones to systematically investigate the surrounding world and try to make sense of it.

Ok, the Mayans did that, too - math and astronomy - but for some reason their culture vanished mysteriously before they could make any breakthroughs in technology.

You elide the fact that “some reason” means that white people stole what they could and burned what they couldn’t, including advanced concepts of mathematics which Europeans couldn’t conceive of.
The Chinese were also great mathematicians and inventors but for some reason the most important scientific discoveries were always made by Europeans.

White history is filled with beautiful art and culture. Just look at our architechture, it’s amazing. And our music - Beethoven, Mozart etc. It’s very beautiful and delicate. Western art is more sophisticated than other cultures’ art. I’m not saying that other cultures’ art is not good but everything that involves analytical thinking seems to have been developped by Europeans (for example, graphical perspective).
All hail white people. Everything white is the best.
Except there is no such thing as “white culture,” there are multifarious European cultures who all subscribe to a doctrine of whiteness.
Now, I understand that this post is a celebration of your personal conception of white supremacy so I’m not about to challenge the subjective joy you derive from what you perceive as being the products of whiteness, but you really don’t know a whole lot about the history of anything. Graphical perspective is attributed to the Egyptians. Critical analysis as we understand it was developed in India independently of whatever Greek shit you’re fetishizing.
The Greeks also thought light was projected by our eyes. So fuck you.
I’m not saying that our culture doesn’t have its drawbacks. I think the Western people have not taken proper care of the environment. That’s because our ancestors didn’t realise how dependent we are on this planet and how fragile the balance of nature is and how we are part of nature. That’s something that we are slowly learning (although I don’t know if we have enough time before our species gets wiped out from the face of the Earth).
Of course, none of you ignorant, arrogant motherfuckers stopped to ask the thousands of cultures who live in parity with their natural environment, and have for thousands of years before you ignorant turds blundered off of your coffin ships and proceeded to burn everything in sight.
There’s also no denying that previous generations of whites have been racist and arrogant towards other cultures (slavery, genocides, colonisation etc).
Your current racism is writ-large. You are basically celebrating the artificial construct of whiteness as according to your inculcation in white supremacy informed by an erroneous and incomplete grasp of history.
That you are celebrating it in antagonism with POC marks your racist bullshit for what it is.
However, I believe that other peoples would have been just as racist and violent had they been given the chance to power.
The world is vexing enough without baseless hypotheticals. Imperialism, colonization, chattel slavery, terra nullius and all other things which contributed to white supremacy were deliberations designed to uphold whiteness at the top of an artificial hierarchy according to skin colour, religion and allegiance.
Whites had power and they abused it, yes. But what reason is there to think that any race or culture wouldn’t have done the same? After all, tribal cultures etc havebeen quite militant and violent.

PoC are subjected to social mechanisms, exemplified by the disproportionate amount of Native children in the system.

Whiteness is a social construct where hierarchies are established according to skin colour in order to legitimize the depredations of slavery and colonialism.
Whites were the ones to find out (with the help of science developped by whites) that destroying nature is bad and that something should be done about it.
Thank heaven for the whites, for telling everyone who lived in parity with the environment that the industrial mass culture of white capitalism was destroying the environment, and providing them with means to engineer themselves out of the mess they created in the first place.
Besides, whites are not the only people that have destroyed nature. Other peoples have done it too, they just haven’t been as effective at it as whites. Of course it seems that some other peoples respect nature more than whites but it’s not all so black and white.
